Style and construction

Built by hand from an original pattern, the Maryon Mfg. Ball Cap draws inspiration from the golden age of early- to mid-century styles. 

This cap is constructed from wonderfully aged 1960s OG-107 cotton sateen fabric. The OG-107 uniform was issued to the US Armed Forces from the 1950s through to the 1980s, and the 8.5oz cotton sateen fabric has become highly desirable due to its soft hand, pronounced horizontal slub and breathability. 

For under the visor, the button and cap rear, I have used a contrasting sanded Japanese cotton twill in taupe, and the cap also features a handcut, 100% wool felt letter, herringbone cotton sweatband, and horsehair canvas backing to the front two crown panels.

Each cap is individually cut and sewn by hand on a 1950 Singer machine, with careful attention paid at every stage of construction.
