Newspaper Bag – Tan Canvas
Style and construction
Presenting my interpretation of the classic mid-century newspaper bag style.
Cut from hardy 14oz canvas, the Maryon Mfg. newspaper bag draws inspiration from vintage styles of the 1950s and 60s, used to transport newspapers for delivery.
On this bag, I have cut a wide 8cm fat strap to distribute the weight more comfortably across the body, which features two-tone top stitching throughout.
I've also included an extra wide gusset panel for increased depth, as well as an easy-access external gusset pocket and a double internal floating pocket, which is sewn directly into the hem to prevent bulging.
Each newspaper bag features solid brass rivets at both ends of the strap, fitted by hand, as well as two solid brass snap buttons to keep your belongings safe.
A super comfortable and practical everyday bag that accommodates all of the essentials, including laptops, tablets and books.
Individually cut and sewn by hand on a 1950 Singer machine, with careful attention paid at every stage of construction.
Built to last and improve with age and wear.
